First for May!

I know I haven't been updating as much as I wanted to. It's kinda pathetic that for the whole month of April, I only had three posts. Normally, I'd have so many things to tell that it would be just spilling from my brain to my fingertips in my blog. But as it turned out, while April was somewhat dramatic and eventful (some), I didn't want to put it in as a memory because they were not fond memories I'd rather have... It involved a whole lot of anger and frustration that were just no fun at all. Hence, the lack of entries throughout the entire month.

But of course after every single cloudy day, a sunnier one would emerge. The only unpredictability of that is whether the day would continue to be sunny or not. Same goes for April. The very last day of April, despite all the hallu-ballu during work that day, I had one of the most enjoyable time with Pinkstar as we had dinner at a nearby Nasi Kandar shop. We laughed so much and so hard, there were tears in my eyes, literally! We also had another reason to let all our stresses of April to flow so freely out of us... it was a three-day Labour Day weekend the very next day. As we all expelled our sighs of relief, we poured over all the stupid stresses we went through and just burst into a whole big laugh about it. Woe is me... yes, you! (a little inside joke).

The next day, I was up rather early but went throughout the day sleepy as hell! With hardly anything to eat at home but feeling oh-so-sleepy and exhausted, I just chilled at home eating cornflakes and bread with cheese watching cartoons and whatever else is on on the tele. Buffy had already left to run her errands with her fiance so it was just me and the tele. But not before I called up the ISP to check on my internet connection. Yes, that's bummed out again. So they lodged a report for me to send a technician over - have yet to get that guy to the house though. By the time it was lunch time, I was more sleepy than hungry so I napped for about an hour. Then because I wanted to return my SIL's DVDs, which I never got around to watching, I hoisted myself up and drove over to their pad stopping at Dunkin Donuts on the way. Ended up loitering in their house long enough to watch 'Bride Wars' on DVD. But because it was such a lay-zee day, I decided to head on back home to just chill. Managed to get Buffy to bring home some hot dogs for din din and we ended up watching 'Chicken Little' again. Hehe!

Saturday was more eventful. I was up and rarring by 9.30am. I was excited!! I was going to meet my housemates from Uni!!! Yay....!

We had a lovely day planned out. Movies and then lunch. Thinking that we were going to catch 'Confessions of a Shopaholic', I was surprised with 'He's Just Not That Into You' instead. ooh... It was really a good movie. I just wished I didn't see it on Saturday (but only for a little while). I had SO MUCH FUN watching with the girls. And lunch was scrumptious!!! That day, I went home a very happy girl. :D

Sunday... D-day. Why D-day? Well, Buffy and her colleague had decided to introduce me to this guy who works in their office. We were meeting up on Sunday with 'He's Just Not That Into You' and lunch. Now you know why I wished I didn't see that movie on Saturday. Luckily, I could still be surprised with the story line so it was as if I was watching it for the first time. I don't know whether it was an appropriate movie for a first 'date' though but we all had a good laugh after that.

Yes, the meet up went well. Although it was a little difficult to do the whole lets-get-to-know-each-other conversation since we met up in a group. But it was still a lot of fun. We'll see if he would want to be friends. Btw, I'm NOT going to be Gigi in HJNTIY. I promise. :P

So here we are again, Monday and all is HELL. Heh! Ava moderately good week peeps!!

Life After... Pt 1

Call it a wake-up call. Call it an epiphany. Call it therapy. Call it what you will. But as I was wallowing in my sorrows as 1st November 2017 began, and knowing that in 24 days I was going to meet my 34th birthday without my beloved Dad for the very first time, I thought to myself that I need to do this for my own healing.
Yes, I lost my Dad this year. He left to be with Allah at exactly half of this year, on 16th June 2017. When 2017 started I honestly thought it would be a great year. I went on my solo trip, I was on probation for a promotion at work, I was going to the gym, my family was in good health, everyone was happy. It was a great start of the year.
Then like the 2004 Tsunami, my whole world and life unexpectedly came tumbling upside down and inside out. All of a sudden my family had crises. *Note the plural form of the word "crisis"* And it started on a rather fine day on 28th April.
I was on edge that day as I did my colleague's wedding makeup. Part of me screa…

Life After... Pt4

"I want to see the trees."
Those were his last words to me on 26th May 2017. The day when we discovered Mum's cancer, the day Dad did his darnedest during physio at his bed just to get on the wheelchair, the day we took him for a little walk around the ward, the day before the 1st of Ramadhan... The day he had a stroke.
We would never hear his voice again after that day until Allah called him home on 16th June 2017, 21st Ramadhan 1438H.
There were a few things that he wanted, which I failed to fulfill. For breakfast the day he was first brought to the hospital in Ipoh, he had told me he wanted fresh milk from Salim's Restaurant - I'm sure with 3 teaspoons of sugar for that perfect taste. While he was in the ward, he wanted some Miso soup from Rakuzen Japanese Restaurant, but logistically it was hard to get to the nearest Rakuzen and I only got him some Miso soup from Sushi Zanmai. He wanted some jelly when he was sitting on the wheelchair - I told him we would b…

Life After... Pt 2

Dad was admitted in the ICU on the morning of 30th April. He had a severe case of pneumonia (and no one knew how things escalated so quickly to acute pneumonia save for Allah). When we first arrived at the Accident & Emergency, the attending physician who is a Cardiologist specially assigned by a friend’s father as the Director of the hospital, explained that all they needed to do was to give Dad antibiotics and nebulizer. Dad was supposed to be in the ICU for three days for monitoring and treatment, and it was expected that he would be right as rain. Although the Doctor did say that there was a possibility that Dad may be intubated just to help him recover better. I didn’t know it then but it turned out that “intubated” meant Dad would be sedated. So when he was wheeled to his bay at the ICU and suddenly the Doctor said there was a complication, I felt an awful feeling at the pit of my stomach. Dad’s case was much more complex than a normal pneumonia case would be because he was …
